Kublai Khan, Khubilai Khan or "the last of the Great Khans" (September 23, 1215[1] - February 18, 1294[2]) (Mongolian: Хубилай хаан, ), was a Mongol military leader. He was the fifth Khagan (1260–1294) of the Mongol Empire as well as the founder and the first Emperor (1271–1294) of the Chinese Yuan Dynasty.
